                                        Rev. Wesley Sewell

Holiness is not a denomination or a cult.  Holiness is a way of life, good moral living according to God's word the Bible.  There are denominations and organizations that incorporate holiness into their titles, i.e. Calvary Holiness, Spirit of Holiness, or Holiness Fire Evangelism & Mission Group, but that is not what holiness is about.

Holiness is something hard to put down in words.  There is inward holiness and outward holiness.  Inward holiness deals with ones desires, emotions, attitudes, and thoughts.  Outward holiness deals with ones speech, dress, and behavior.  Holiness also deals with repentance and living separated from sin and ungodliness.  The Bible speaks of the way of holiness in Isaiah 35:8-9, "And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.  No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there."

It is God's will that we live holy.  Zacharias prophesied in Luke 1:74-75, "That he would grant us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life."  In fact, there is only one way to God which is being saved by Jesus' blood and following the way of holiness.  "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord." Hebrews 12:14
