We must all agree that we need a demonstration of the spirit and power of God in our churches and most importantly our souls. We as young people in the holiness ranks have not seen some of the things that the older saints have seen.
I have heard the stories of the blue haze as it would move into the church. I have heard the stories of the balls of fire running up and down the roof and around the windows. I have heard of the fire department being called because the church was on "fire." I have heard of these things, but I have never seen them. If you have, praise God for it, but as a whole the church, especially the young people, have not experienced a demonstration of the spirit of God in these ways. If we have not experienced this power, the world definitely has not either. Do these things have to take place for us to be having a real move of the Holy Ghost? No, but He is the same God. What the older saints had and saw then, we can have now.
The world is looking for something. We can tell from the Charismatic churches as they have their "Holy Ghost and fire revivals." Sadly, we find out later it was an emotional hype of entertainment and carnality. The "Holy Ghost and fire" was smoke machines and ungodly dance and drama teams.
We have the answer to what the world is looking for. We have experienced Pentecost for ourselves, and it is time to have a demonstration. Paul said in I Corinthians 2:4, "And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power." The anointing is what breaks the yoke of bondage. Jesus said that signs would follow them that serve him.
Preachers, deacons, Sunday school teachers, singers, and Christians in general, we must have a demonstration. The only way God will be able to use us to reach this lost and dying world is that we have the anointing and power of the Holy Ghost manifesting and demonstrating itself in our lives. Let us have a demonstration of the power of God in our souls! |
